Shaping The Future Of Transportation & Logistics With QA

We have all been part of the connected revolution where technology has redefined the dynamics of connectivity, bringing us closer than ever. Either it is booking a cab to your favorite restaurant or ordering that delicious lasagna, things have got on your fingertips with apps like Uber and GrubHub.

However, the only thing that we most often fail to pay attention to is the idea of a truly connected future. It’s not about IoT, Cloud, or Virtual Assistants, but rather about the way the transportation industry works. There is no denial of the fact that technology has brought us the power to bring things in motion within a few clicks, the totally connected landscape needs a keen focus on the transportation industry.

However, bringing this connected concept into the Transporation industry needs extensive efforts on the development and Automotive and Transportation Software Testing. Though there have been some prominent advancements made in regard to connectivity and convenience of transport, normalizing self-driving vehicles, autonomous drones, and the entire driverless fleet is under construction.

Above all, the only way to shape the future of the transportation and logistics industry goes through dedicated and Reliable Software Testing services for Logistics that can make way for the connected era. Before we dig into the futuristic innovations made in regard to the Transporation industry and how QA could impact these transformations, let us quickly jump on understanding why there is a need for quality assurance in the transportation and logistics world.

Importance of Quality Assurance For Transportation Industry

Since transportation and logistics are a significant part of the supply chain process, it is necessary to work on quality monitoring and other SaaS solutions to accommodate any disruptive changes. Moreover, aligning the Quality Assurance process into the picture could help establish continuous communication and yield greater visibility in regard to connectivity requirements.

When we talk about software testing trends that will be going to rule in 2021 and beyond, transportation software testing holds a special place on the list. Especially when Quality Assurance services have the potential to ensure that any kind of implementation made on disruptive solutions is smooth and correct. Moreover, vitalizing Transport & Logistics Software Testing Services can even aid the transportation and logistics companies to avoid any quarrel and ensure optimal functionality.

At present, the transportation and logistics industry is trying to utilize technology to resist any error-prone operations. And the entire responsibility of keeping the channels flowing has now fallen on the software. Though it is satisfying as it helps streamline all the operations, any glitches or code errors could bring the entire supply chain on pause.

Cutting it short, missing the mark in the transportation sector could be dangerous as lack of coordination at any stage, either it is trucking or marine carriers, could affect the entire process. This might even affect brands and customers, affecting almost every industry that is dependent on moving vehicles.

This is why it is crucial that quality assurance services must be a mandate when planning on technology in the transportation sector. Also, the right amount of testing could enable testing teams to have all the visibility required to smoothen and streamline logistics operations.

The Future Of Transportation

Since the idea of using technology in the Transporation industry is not limited to software and driverless cars, it is necessary that benchmarking QA goals should only be done after careful interpretation of the concepts that are likely to drive the future of transportation. Especially when the future holds a place for intelligent energy sources, and strengthening the technological infrastructure, working on the most common themes of innovation can be a wise decision.

Let us have a short preview of what the future of transportation holds when we talk about technologies like Autonomous vehicles or electrification.

1. AAVs

Just like drones, these days are used for surveys, aerial photography, and military purpose, the AAVs or Autonomous Aerial Vehicles are on their way to reality. The purpose of these vehicles would be to save time to move from one place to other, quickly transporting the passengers. These will be unmanned machines that will be based on the Vertical Take-Off and Landing concept to overcome any flight requirements like long runways. Besides, these will be used to cut the distance for straight routes and save travel time. An example of the concept could be traced from Ehang 184, the first air taxi that will make its debut during FIFA World Cup, 2022, in Qatar.

2. Self-Driving Taxis

When it comes to self-driving cars, the world is already experiencing the deployment of technology. The Aptiv Vehicles in the city of Las Vegas could be accessed through Lyft to experience self-driving cars. These vehicles are not just based on autonomous and electrification concepts but are smart mobility solutions like communication between other smart vehicles, infrastructure, and customers to collect data that can bring efficiency.

3. Hyperloop

The next big thing that is going to hit the world of modern transportation would be Hyperloop. Envisioned in 2012 by Elon Must, it is a concept that will allow small city travels to large transport requirements across continents. Basically, the idea behind Hyperloop was to yield movement through capsules or pods that can be transported to long distances through high-speed tubes.

The tubes will have a low-pressure surrounding, while MagLev will be used to create propulsion, creating a low friction travel environment making the capsules reach the speed of up to 600 MPH.

4. Hoverbikes

Hoverbikes will also be one of the most interesting travel innovations that we will witness in the near future. Based on Vertical Takeoff and Landing concept, hoverbikes will be controlled by humans but will have four rotors, allowing alleviation through congested and busy streets. Though the technology is not going to be anything available for daily commute in upcoming years, the invention could surely change the way we see transport these days.

On top of these, the long-hauled idea of MagLev trains, hybrid cars, electric bikes, cable cars, autonomous buses, and Falcon 9 rockets are few other things that will make it to innovative transportation, making way for development and infrastructure growth.

The Mobility Evolution & Role Of Quality Assurance

With the rising demand for services and resources, the world needs access to better transportation and logistics. Besides, modern mobility services have the potential to cut the costs of commuting, while ridesharing services like Lyft and Uber have the potential to foster innovative transportation.

The process even involves giant auto manufacturers like BMW, Tesla, Audi, and Mercedes to align with the revolution, making the most of EVs and encouraging research and development for Autonomous and human-less driving. However, all this transition calls for mobility evolution which needs extensive focus on Quality Assurance and Transportation Software Testing to avoid any chances of accidents and ensure the faith of common people in autonomous technology.

And most importantly, if we are aiming to incorporate IoT and Big Data to transform the way the world looks at transportation, the only way to clean and efficient results go through strong Quality Assurance benchmarks.
